John Wayne Airport, Orange County, is the only commercial service airport in Orange County, California, which is managed and owned by the County of Orange (Airport code: SNA).

The airport is named initiallyOrange County Airport, in 1979, the Orange Country Board Supervisors renamed the airport in the name of actor John Wayne, who lived in bordering Newport Beach and died that year. In 1982, a statue of John Wayne was put at the airline terminal.

John Wayne Airport has two runways. The main runway of John Wayne Airport is one of the shortest of any major airport in the United States (2L/20R, at 5,701 feet (1,738 m) in length). Runway 2R/20L, which serves general aviation aircraft, is 2,887 feet (880 m) long.
